FAQs
Basic Questions

I am new to genealogy and would like
to know where to get started in Pike County?
I am the new
coordinator for Pike County as of Jul 2025 and I'm updating all
the pages, but resources is a great place to start. I've also
started transcribing cemeteries so that's another great place to
start. Also, check out tips
I don't see XXX church or
cemetery on your list.
I'm currently transcribing
cemeteries but haven't started on churches yet so please check
back soon.
The pictures are so tiny, I can't see them.
They are "thumbnail" pictures. Click on the picture for a
larger view. I don't have a gallery up yet as I'm recreating all
the pages but in the coming weeks I will be adding profiles of
early settlers and hopefully photos.
How do I submit
information to you?
You can type the information in an
email to me or attach a document (.doc, .txt) to the email.
Specific People:
I am looking for information about
XXX.
Unfortunately, if you don't see it on the site then
I don't have any information about it. I do not live in this
county or the State of Missouri (however, I will be relocating
back to St. Louis), so am unable to check other resources. You
can also give additional information here, just in case you do
have info that I can try and research for you.
Can you
send me a marriage license (or birth certificate, death
certificate, court document) for my ancestor?
No, I'm
sorry, but I do not have access to additional records. In most
cases, you will need to check with the parish courthouse in
order to obtain original documents. You can find contact
information in "vital records - ordering records". This page
will need to be recreated so please be patient
Can you
look some information up for me?
I'm a resource for you
but the only way that I can offer assistance is online, if you
send me the pertinent info and the person you're looking for I
will do my best to assist you.
We all appreciate your
contribution!
